Russia continues exporting soybean oil at a record pace

Russia exported 53.8 KMT of soybean oil in March 2017, or almost 53% more than in the previous month (35.2 KMT) and up 86% from March 2016. Greater volumes were only exported in October 2016, when a record 63.2 KMT was shipped abroad, UkrAgroConsult.

LLC Amuragrocenter is finishing the commissioning of the first stage of a plant for advanced soybean processing in the Far East. As of today, the facility operates in a pilot industrial mode. Over 11 KMT of feedstock has been processed.

Cargill is one of several new investors in the US natural gas conversion technology firm, which is developing FeedKind, a protein-rich biomass for fish and poultry produced by a microbial culture with natural gas as sole nutrition and energy source. On Tuesday this week, Calysta revealed it had generated $30m in funding in a C Series round with backing from the corn milling division of Cargill, together with investment by the Municipal Employee Retirement System (MERS) of Michigan.

Evonik's new L-lysine production site in the Brazilian state of Parana is now operational, bringing an additional 80,000 metric tons (Mt) of capacity.
"The new [Biolys] plant in Castro is our first amino acid plant in Latin America. We will target the [pig and poultry] markets in Latin America in general and in Brazil in particular," said a spokesperson for the German group.
